Pop artist Kaylee Johnston released her self-titled EP June 3, 2016. After writing over 300 songs, she spent the last two years developing her sound with her production team SA TrackWorks (Steve Smith and Anthony Anderson). Her single and music video, “Getting Over You,” remixed by LA-based duo Stu G & Robot Disco Puma, and mixed by Orlando Vitto (Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Britney Spears), has captured the attention of critics and fans alike. Garnering comparisons to indie-pop favourites Robyn and Carly Rae Jepsen, the music video has already gained upwards of 45,000 views on YouTube.
Previously opening for Dragonette and Ace of Base, sharing the stage with Carly Rae Jepsen, Marianna's Trench, One Republic, and Joe Jonas, and with her next single “Are You The One” at 225,000 streams on Spotify, Kaylee is looking forward to touring and showcasing her new EP at festivals Riffilandia and Break Out West this fall.
"Kaylee Johnston is Canada's next big pop-star."
"'Getting Over You,' is a punchy empowerment jam that is rooted in experiencing the magic that happens when a break up turns into an opportunity."
"Raw and honest, 'Are You the One' hears Johnston incorporating R&B, soul and rock influences, even edging towards rap on one particularly rapid-fire refrain."
"New song 'Try' bridges the effervescence of Carly Rae Jepsen and the alt-rock charm of late ‘90s Natalie Imbruglia. It’s all about Johnston’s crystalline voice, which conveys emotion and charisma with a directness that’s arresting."
